XDI Corporate Footprint Methodologies for Risk and Resilience in ResilienceArc

Physical climate risk is increasingly measurable. Corporate resilience is not.
Climate-risk models can identify where company assets are exposed, while corporate disclosures describe governance, targets and adaptation activity. But these sources are rarely connected, making it difficult to answer a fundamental question: is a company genuinely preparing for the physical impacts of climate change?
ResilienceArc was created to help close this gap. Developed through a collaboration between non-profit Arc, Earth Capital Nexus at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and XDI, the open-access platform connects asset-level physical climate risk with corporate adaptation disclosures and resilience benchmarking.
This methodology paper explains XDI’s contribution to ResilienceArc and how it assesses physical climate risk across a company’s corporate footprint. It covers the discovery and mapping of company assets; XDI’s engineering-based analysis of potential damage and disruption; and indirect risks transmitted through infrastructure, regional economies and trade-linked supply chains.
The paper also sets out the methodologies behind two corporate resilience indicators - Asset System Resilience and Revenue Impairment - and explains how disclosed adaptation measures can be considered alongside quantified risk through XDI’s Hazard Adaptation Materiality Assessment. Together, these approaches provide a more consistent basis for examining whether a company appears to be on a pathway towards resilience and comparing its position with that of its peers.
Illustrative case studies contributed by Marsh and The GPT Group demonstrate how the methodologies can support practical decisions about asset-level adaptation, lifecycle upgrades, operational continuity and insurability.By making these methodologies transparent, XDI aims to support greater scrutiny, comparability and continuous improvement in how corporate physical climate risk and resilience are assessed.
